Mulberry IDE is built on the principle that your data is yours. The app runs entirely on your device. We collect only what's necessary to sell you a license and send you updates — nothing more. We have no telemetry, no analytics SDK, no usage tracking, and no interest in changing that.
Mulberry IDE is a product of A2P ("we," "us," "our"), operated by Joshua at progressneverstops@gmail.com. This policy covers the Mulberry IDE application for iOS and macOS, and the marketing website at mulberry.vercel.app.
Here's the complete picture — what we collect, and what we deliberately don't.
| Data | Collected? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Yes | Account signup, license delivery, product updates |
| Payment method (via Stripe) | Yes | Subscription billing — stored by Stripe, not us |
| License key record | Yes | Validating your subscription tier |
| Selected pricing tier | Yes | Delivering the right feature set |
| Your files or code | No | — |
| AI conversations | No | — |
| Usage analytics / telemetry | No | — |
| Keystroke or behavior data | No | — |
| Device identifiers | No | — |
| Location data | No | — |
| Crash reports | No | — |
Mulberry IDE runs entirely on your device. Your files, projects, AI conversations, editor state, and preferences are stored locally and never transmitted to our servers. We have no mechanism to access your on-device data, and no desire to build one.
The on-device AI model runs inference locally. Your prompts, code context, and AI responses never leave your device. The model's personalization ("brain tuning") is computed and stored on-device only.
If you choose to use cloud AI providers through our BYOK feature, your device connects directly to that provider's API using your own API key. We never see, store, proxy, or log your API key or the data exchanged in those requests. Your relationship with that API provider is governed by their terms, not ours. We are not a party to that transaction.
So you can review and reuse past AI work, the app records each AI interaction — the prompt, the response, and a copy of the file contents that were sent as context — in the app's private storage on your device. This history stays on your device. It is not transmitted to us, and we have no mechanism to read it. It is included in any device backup you have enabled (iCloud or local), and it is removed when you delete the app.
Voice input uses Apple's speech recognition. The app requests on-device recognition whenever your device and selected language support it. Where they do not, recognition is performed by Apple's servers and your audio is handled under Apple's privacy policy. We never receive your audio. Microphone access is used only while you are actively dictating.
Downloading an on-device model contacts the hosting provider (for example, Hugging Face) directly from your device. This exposes your IP address and the request to that provider under its own privacy policy. We do not proxy, log, or receive these requests.
When a web-search-assisted feature is enabled, your search query is sent to the configured search provider. Queries are not sent to us. Disabling the feature prevents this.
Remote sandbox and SSH features transmit code, commands, and output to machines that you designate. Those destinations are chosen by you and are governed by their own policies.
When you send a file to the app using the share sheet or “Open in”, it is copied into the app's own storage (a shared app group container) so the app can work with it. It stays on your device.
Because this is the core promise of the product, here it is plainly:
| Activity | Leaves your device? | Goes to |
|---|---|---|
| On-device model inference | No | — |
| Apple Intelligence (on-device) | No | — |
| AI interaction history | No — stored locally | — |
| Cloud model using your API key | Yes | The provider you chose |
| Voice input (on-device supported) | No | — |
| Voice input (fallback) | Yes | Apple |
| Web search | Yes | Search provider |
| Model download | Yes (request only) | Model host |
| Remote sandbox / SSH | Yes | Host you designate |
| Payment | Yes | Payment processor |
We want to be crystal clear: Any data created, edited, or used within the app and stored locally on your device is never collected by us. This includes:
None of this leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to: send it to an external AI provider (BYOK), enable web search, use remote sandbox, or manually upload/share it. We have no access to it, no logs of it, and no mechanism to retrieve it.
Mulberry IDE is a tool. We are not responsible for content you create, generate, or output using the app. This includes:
You are solely responsible for reviewing, testing, and validating any output before using it. We make no warranties about the accuracy, safety, legality, or appropriateness of any content. You assume all liability for how you use the app and its output.
The mulberry.vercel.app website is a static site hosted on Vercel. We don't add any analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party scripts beyond Google Fonts for typography.
That's the complete list. We don't sell, rent, share, or trade your information with third parties. We don't run ads. We don't build marketing profiles.
We retain your email and license record for as long as your subscription is active, plus 90 days after cancellation for payment dispute purposes. After that window, we delete it. If you want it deleted sooner, email us and we'll handle it within 7 business days.
Regardless of where you live, you can:
If you're in the EU/EEA, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA respectively. We comply with all of them — but because we collect so little, exercising these rights is straightforward. Email progressneverstops@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
We have never sold personal information to third parties. We have no plans to. If that ever changes (it won't), we'll update this policy and notify you by email before it takes effect, with the option to delete your data.
Mulberry IDE is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If we learn we have, we'll delete it immediately.
Your license validation data is stored in an encrypted database with access limited to one person (the developer). The marketing site uses HTTPS. Payments are processed through Stripe — we never see, process, or store your card details.
Data stored on your device — including AI interaction history and any imported models — is protected by iOS/macOS app sandboxing and device encryption. A device passcode is what protects that data at rest; if your device has no passcode, on-device encryption protections are substantially weaker.
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top and email active subscribers. Material changes (especially any that expand data collection) will include 30 days' notice before taking effect.
